Angry Car won't start....HELP!!!!

I have a 92 Z28 305TPI Auto. Lastweek the car wouldn't start. It wouldn't turn over, click or anything. All of the dashlights would come on like they should when trying to start the car. So I thaught it was the starter solenoid, so I changed it. well it started fine for a week. Then same thing again. Can anyone help?

Do you have the 700R4? If so, remove the plastic plate from around the shifter lever. Check the "reverse/neutral safety switch."

If the switch is out of place/dead/broken, the car "thinks" it's not in P or N and will not let you start it. I had this exact problem a few weeks ago, the screws holding the switch in place were loose and the switch assembly was moving instead of just the switch. So, the car was doing the exact same thing yours is and at random intervals.

Hope that is your problem!

Re: Car won't start....HELP!!!!

The first thing you need to do is to test for current at the starter when you are trying to start the vehicle. If you are getting current then your problem is either in the starter or the starter solenoid. If you are not getting current then you need to check your neutral safety switch and/or your electrical portion of the ignition switch located at the bottom of your steering column. Hope this helps. Also, makes sure ALL battery connections are clean and tight!

Thanks guys, It was the NEW starter solenoid, I just had put on the week before. Now the question is, Is this a product of a bad part from Advance Auto, or is smomething causing them to short out?
