Went to the local track tonight Had a blast. I will definetly be going there more often. It was only a 1/8 mile track though. I made 4 passes. My best was a 10.1 I guess thats not bad for my little lg4 with only basic mods. My dads bone stock 86 Iroc ran a 9.8 Are those about average times?

 

Never been to the track myself so I can't comment. What MPH did you finish the 1/8 at? Curious because I have the LG4 mated to the 700R4. I'm set to drag race with a friend and his 1985. I've done some basic mods, he's running stock... wondering how it'll go.

 

My mph was 67 and the Irocs mph was 70.

 

Was that in OD or D? I'm curious because I find that I get better acceleration dropping the trans into D. In OD, I find that the car essentially wastes 2nd gear by shifiting into 2 at a high RPM, thus making it shift up to 3 almost immediately.

 

It was in D. OD is meant for like cruising on the highway, saves gas mileage since it lowers the engine rpms.

But yea,those times sounds about average to me with listed mods. Is your dads IROC an L98 or 305?

My 87 would run 9.9's,9.8's with no traction and a 305 TPI AND 350 TPI...the 305 would run about 68-69 mph and the 350 would run 71-72.

 

OD saves gas?? I get 13 mpg!!!! LOL

 

That's about 15.6 for you and 15.2 for the IROC. I'd say that's as strong as when they were new or a little better.
