car wont move forward

new problem,

car idles fine and revs fine when idling, but wont move forward without heavy choking and sputtering and trying to die.

i tried to check engine codes and it wont even flash.

I just put new headers and exhaust in last night and it has been doing this since i finished.
i have checked all my wires, and everything seems fine.
all the air pump lines and cat have been removed

i have also posted this here:

Re: car wont move forward

Do you have an air leak after your MAF somewhere? I'd be thinking it was some sort of vacuum leak. Spray some carb cleaner around your engine and if the idle changes, you've pinpointed your leak.

It's possible you still have a leak somewhere, I'd try it and see.

Go back and look oever ALL connectors on the engine. Something probably didnt get plugged back in after your header install, or something got accidentally unplugged when you removed your AIR pump that shouldn't have. If this problem just started right after your header install, 98% odds say it's something simple as that.

Exactly right...when you have been working on the car and something pops up always look at the things you have just worked on first.

Re: car wont move forward

kinda found the problem.

i think the wire to the o2 sensor was grounding out, it looked a little melted.
there is one other wire bundled with the o2 going to another sensor. could the other sensor cause this problem?

I replaced the o2 wire and rerouted and zap strapped it and still havingthe same issue

Depends on what sensor that wire goes too. If that wire was melted too, then fix it. It can't be doing anything good being melted. Other than that, Still go over EVERHTHING with a fine tooth comb. I guarentee something you are overlooking is the culprit. Check all your vacuum lines too. They can cause MAJOR running problems. If you are unsure of how to properly route the vacuum lines, do a quick search here, or at Thirdgen.org for a vacuum hose diagram. I know how this is, lol. Good luck. You'll find it.

Re: car wont move forward

Its wierd, i removed the cap and cleaned the connectors and it drove fine to 4000rpm then crapped out again, about 10min later it started crapping out all over the rpm range again. mostly between 2-4
