Question Car wants to lag before the power

Ok I have an 87 Trans am gta. With everything done to it and yadda yadda. Well because of the miniram it gets it's real power at about 4000 rpms. Well the other day i was playing with it. It has a automatic in it but i have the console megashifter so i go through the gears manually. Well i've noticed it wants to lag after i shift into third gear before i hit 4000 rpms. It runs smooth and strong but for that little time it feels as weak as it used to be before i did anything to it. Has anyone had this problem before and if so what did you do to fix it. Also in like 20 days i'm taking it to ed wright in oklahoma to have it dynotuned and do you think he can fix that or do you think it's not computer related? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Jake

I'll bet it is computer related....you probably have a proverbial hole in your fuel map....runs good at WOT at shifting time, but only soso at lower RPM's is a classic sign of a poor fuel map, because it's only optimum at WOT no one ever tuned it for part throttle operation.
