Car idling awful, bad vibration etc, need help
I recently did some work to the car, replaced oil pump and before I replaced the oil pump I was having a problem, it was idling bad all the time, feels like some sort of vibration or something, like a loping or something, so after I changed oil pump I had to reset timing, well I put the timing exactly how its supposed to be and car was running great for 1 day, then started running really bad, would shut off some times, and at stop light it idles down real low and runs real rough during acceleration and has a hesitation when you accelerate. I adjusted the timing and it runs a little better (advanced the timing) but the problem is still there, just harder to feel. Anyone have any ideas? I have a 1989 Chevrolet Camaro TBI (got 2 brand new injectors, new fuel pressure regulator, relatively new plug wires, not sure how old spark plugs are but I don't think they are that old, bosch plantium 4+ plugs, not sure how old oxygen sensor is). Any ideas??? TIA!
Well,
I can suggest the old "might be one tooth off" problem. try pulling the distributor out and start over again. Are you using a timing light? I didn't believe in using them until I got one. They make it so easy, and you KNOW the timing is dead on. Then again it may not even me that, could be idle on the carb TB as well, reason why it is dying.
