Car Dying Why I Donno

Just got done doing a fuel pump swap, had the stock TBI unit in there swapped it with a holley red cuz I thought it would fix the problem. WRONG, this happened to me be4 i swapped the pump out. Lets say the car is cold hasnt been started yet that day, jump in and fire her up. After she warms up at idle the rpms will slowly drop from 800ish give or take (idle speed) until the car dies. Now if I rev the engine when its about to die itll stay alive, until the rpms drop again. I can do this for a while but after a while even at 4000rpm or so the car will just die. Its not the fuel pump, cuz I just got a holley red installed and its pumping. Donno if its pumping when it dies cuz my FP guage doesnt work right. Im gonna get a new one and check 2day tho. Hittin on all 8, pulled individual wires and every time the RPMs dropped, never did it remain the same. Im also going to try to disconnect my electric choke. See if that helps any. However i am stumpped I was pretty sure my new FP would fix the problem.

Set Up Below

K&N X-Treme Open Element, Edlebrock 750cfm Carb Vaccume Secondaries and Electric Choke, Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap Intake, L31 Vortec Heads w/ Z28 springs .575" max lift & LT4 Retainers, ZZ4 Cam (duration @.050" lift = 208/221, Lift = .474"/.510"),

Re: Car Dying Why I Donno

Well my starter wouldnt turn the engine over just click so i took my starter and alt to kragen (same alt it had when i bought the car which was stock over 3 years ago) they told me the alt was bad so i bought a new one, batteries bad 2 (3rd one i went through in the last 6 months) so gotta go to the other store cuz of the warranty tomorrow morning. Now my quesiton is could it have been the alt cuz like i said it runs better when i rev it high and in turn the alt spins faster and makes more power so thats y it might not die out at high rpm till a little latter. Think this was the culprit the whole time or what? Hope to god so i have a race with a 442 tomorrow . Ill let u guys know what happens tomorrow.
