Can I use an LT1 starter

Hey guys. Gonna put my 350 back into the car soon, but its a high compression motor, and was hard to start with the previous starter(s). So this time, I bought a solenoid relocation kit, hopefully this helps. BUT, from what I saw, my LT1 start was a mini unit, but was high torque. Can I use this starter on my 350 ('88 motor), or only if I use the T56 as well, or not at all? Thanks guys.

I am using a LT-1 starter on my 89 block. I like the way it fits much better. I am pretty sure you do not need to have the 6 speed in there to use it. The nose is smaller to fit in the bellhousing but should work for the auto.

Excellent, thank you. I figure with it, the remote start solenoid, and the starters physical smaller size, should work OK I hope. There are lots of LT1 parts I can use it seems. Can't wait to tare appart and then rebuild the LT1 itself!
