Which bilstein shocks?
Which bilstein shocks?
Ok, so you all were kind enough to let me know that the stock IROC shocks (the bilsteins) are probably better than the KYBs I was going to move to, so I've decided to get new Bilsteins. The question is, which ones do I get?
I've found 2 different ones for my car:
The Bilstein Sport, and the Bilstein HD
"Chevrolet Camaro IROC/Z28/Berlinetta/RS 82-92 BILSTEIN SPORT- For the performance minded driver. Designed to push a car's suspension to its performance peak, these shocks are well suited for use with special springs, anti-sway bars or other suspension upgrades. Part# B461021 (Rear)"
"Chevrolet Camaro IROC/Z28/Berlinetta/RS 82-92 BILSTEIN HD- These shocks provide improved handling and stability without sacrificing ride comfort. As with all Bilstein shocks, these shocks instantaneously adjust to changing road conditions. Part# B461121 (Rear)"
Can someone actually EXPLAIN the differences here? I'm assuming I want the HD, since my car is stock so far, but should I get the sport if I'm planning on upgrading the suspension in the future?
Thanks guys.

both kits use the exact same front strut, there is only one for the front.
the rears are diffrent, the Sport is designed for lowered cars, i don't know if the dampening rate is higher, or the valving is diffrent, i have never been able to get a straight answer from bilstein on this.
if you plan on getting lowering springs, since you are doing all the work right now, might as well just pick up a set of springs, you will be money ahead to do this now, then do it again in a few months, this way you only pay for an alignment once. if you descide to lower the car, get the sports, if you don't i say go with the HD.
