Can I do this? Will it work?
Ok, lets say that I have a 5.0 TPI from an F-Body that was complete, ready to throw in and start driving. Then, I also have a 350 with no intake that's an 87+ style block with heads and everything. Can I take the TPI stuff off of the 305 and stick it on the 350 and have a 350 TPI?
Re: Can I do this? Will it work?
Most definately. I don't see why it wouldn't work, to tell you the truth. It should all bolt up the same, only difference being the internals. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong . . .
Re: Can I do this? Will it work?
What year is the 305? If its 87+ as he said, yes it will work great. You might want to change injectors as the TPI 350s had 21lbs and 305 had 19lbs depending on what your doin w/ it also.

Why would everything else in my car be stock & not the injectors? I mean when I got the car 2yrs ago it even had the factory org Fuel filter in it which was changed a year after I got the car. I mean EVERYThing but the steering wheel was factory org.
Plus when I called to have my chip done by two diff. shops they said they were 24lbs & all the race guys around here who work on TPI engines say they are 24 lbs?

Taken from Chevy High Performance online tech article:
"The TPI manifold was originally designed for 305ci engines with 19 lb/hr fuel injectors operating at 36 psi, and employs a long and narrow runner to enhance bottom and midrange torque. The 350ci TPI-equipped engines use the same intake as the 305ci with larger 22 lb/hr injectors at 43.5 psi . . ."

I don't think I would go as far as calling all the "Perfessionals" around the country "total idiots", but perhaps miscommunication got the best of some of us . . .
