Can a 92 Gauge cluster and Steering column be put on an 82-90?

Has anyone ever put a steering column and steering wheel and a gauge cluster from a 91 or 92 on an 82 - 90? Does anyone know if everything fits and how difficult it is? Thanks

Nick

I did this. I found it easier to move the entire dash board from a 91 to my 82. The cluster looks close but it took less fabricating to move the dash. Be forwarned pre 90 is a mechanical spedo and 91 and up is an electronically driven spedo.I did it mainly because the output of the 4l60E (part of the LT1 conversion) is electronic. Also the pins dont line up, you have to rewire the harness at the gauge cluster.

I found an entire dash and cluster from a v8 rs for $200.00

The results though were terrific, the new cluster is a nice change over the old one.

Hope this helps

If I didnt need to go to an electronic speedo I would have left it alone. Its not hard just time consuming to get it to fit correctly. I probably took it in and out at least 4 times.
