I am assuming the 406 was a 400ci smallblock bored over, correct? Same size valves? If so, I think you should be hitting over 400hp. Not the same as the 406, because of the loss of cubes, but lemme run a check in DD and see what I come up with.

EDIT: Ran the numbers in DD, and found the exact specs for your cam. Give me the heads that you have so I can get a perfect match up here. I just plugged in Brodix IK200's because they fit your head description.

Seems that you will hit 381hp at peak, but that torque curve is not much to be desired. Like I said, and I'm sure you know this, Desktop Dyno isn't the most accurate program in the world, but with the estimates I've seen compared to real life combinations, it's damn close. Again, get me the brand of heads you have and I can get a more accurate reading.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was a Big Block the cam was in before or a Smallblock, but then I realized that the common CI for a 396 big block that is bored over is a 402, not a 406, and a 400 SB bored over is a 406, so thats what that was all about.

Re: cam help

Itll be a nasty cam in the 355...should be a little over 400 at the wheels with an automatic car.

It will sounds nastier in this motor than it did the 406 b/c of the cubic inch loss.
