A/C Cooling Fan

Here is my problem. I have a 87 Camaro 305 TPI. I have dual fans on the car and when I turn the A/C on one of the fans are suppose to run. But It don't. I have checked the fuses, I have swapped the wires around and the fan does work, so that tells me that the motor is not bad. Has anyone got any suggestions on what the problem might be. Thanks

It sounds like a fan relay. Little black box about 2.5 inch by 1.2 inches. If you need to see a picture go to e-bay and type z28 fan relay. They are about $10 usually. Just make sure you gat the same part number because the driver side and pass. side fan have different temperature fan on times.

Thanks, but I don't think that we are talking about the same relay. The one I am talking about comes on as soon as I turn on the A/C. It don't matter what the temp is. The fan that is not coming on is on the passenger side.

Re: A/C Cooling Fan

1987 cars turned the passenger side fan on with temp only. 1988-92's had the temp and/or AC high pressure turn on the fan.

Driver side is turned on by temp and A/C.

Re: A/C Cooling Fan

Yes. On my car the primary fan (driver side) relay is next to the radiator cap, Held in by two plastic screws.

The secondary fan (passenger side) is on the passenger front quarter panel.

Look for relay # 14089936
