Friend of mine with a stock intake stuck on a 58mm TB and went a tenth slower. It just let the air come in and because it wasn't going anywhere fast, it disrupted the flow. I have seen SC engines on that TB so why do you think that is the only restriction? What do you have between the TB and the pistons?

Ok, well atleast we all agree that there is no poin in me (mostly everyone else) to get a tb bigger then 58mm. I wasnt going to get a bigger one in the first place i was just saying that my dad thinks that is what the problem was. I know its the heads/cam. Those will be taken car of soon, i hope. But im hopefully looking at a mid 11 second car. Anyways thanks for the info guys, i appreciate the replys.

IROCBOB89 - Have you run the car down the 1/4 mile yet? If so, what times and mph did it run?

If you had brand new rings in the motor and they were trash after 100 miles, you have a serious over rich condition.

I agree with your decision to use AFR heads. I would opt for a Comp custom grind XE 236/236 or 242/242 hydraulic roller ground on a 112lsa. The AFR heads seem to work well with a single pattern cam since they have a good intake to exhaust ratio. I have a 383 with ported AFR 190 heads and just changed the cam from a Comp XE 236/242 solid roller to a 248/248. The power difference is very noticeable and the idle is quite tame for a cam that size. By the way, the motor has a 58mm t-body.
