best roller rockers

i am going to get some RR's and was wondering what would be the better ones to get they must be 1.5's:
Blue Racer
Harland sharp
or crane energizer

i have heard the harland sharps are pretty good, there also cheaper.

the car is a street car with a little track time.
Thanks!

Re: best roller rockers

any of them are a step up from stock

but in all honesty...its hardly worth the money if you dont upgrade to a higher ratio.

granted it will require changing springs, but the gains will be much more pronounced.

in real life...just upgrading to roller rockers with the same ratio...you'll probably see less than 10hp gain. upgrading to 1.6 you can see 15+ hp gains. especially with the horrible flow characteristics of the heads

Agreed. No matter what you go with, you wont see much of a gain at all unless you step up to a larger lift. Now, if you converted everything to roller, such as cam, lifters, AND rockers...then youd see enough of a difference in gained valvetrain power due to less friction to notice it.

But for the $200 you would pay for those, you can get other products that will actually make a difference that you can feel. You could also put them into a set of vortec heads, which will only really yeild you around 600$, so youd be 1/3 of the way there.

Or even suspension components such as a tubular K member to aid you in a lighter front end, and a better weight transfer, which will equate to a better 0-60' time...or get Lower control arms, and a set of LCA relocation brackets to compliment them. Again, better traction with those upgrades, both of which will come out to about the same price (maybe cheaper) than 1.5rr's that you wont see much of a difference with.

Re: best roller rockers

my heads are machined for .500 lift, my cam is .477/.480. the lift with 1.6's is .508/.512, so i can't do that. the reason i wanted them was because i have a couple of rockers that squeek. they are sealed power stock replacement's. every time i take one out the ball is scared up, i think these are rather low quality.

edit: i'm getting plenty of oil too, i checked.

Well, if you have your heart set on them, then go for it. I've heard good things about Comps roller rockers, but never even heard about the other two brands. I'd say any set really since they are all in the same price range, but comp is one of the leaders in valvetrain components so I'd probably go with them.

Re: best roller rockers

thanks, i stole some REAL oem rockers from another motor in my garage and compared them, with the real factory ones the whole ball is a bearing surface, on the sealed power ones only about 1/4 of the ball acts as a bearing surface. the sealed power ones had burned oil under the ball. i replace all the sealed power ones and there was no more squeek!! i'm not gonna do RR's right now but maybe later on when i get some decent heads. i would suggest people stay away from sealed power rockers!!
Thanks for all the advice though!
