best replacement for a factory t5 tranny

i plan on swapping the 2.8 v6 in my 88 camaro with a 350 tpi and i would really appreciate some advice on what i should replace the factory tranny with. I am on a budget, so i'm looking for the best replacement for my money. thank you again.

well if you have plans for future mods, power adding mods, i'd say go w/ a T-56 tranny... it'll be the best bang for the buck, especially if you plan on adding power. it'll be worth it in the long run, def.!

but i don't know dude, it's all up to you... but if i were in your case, i'd throw in the T-56... good luck bro!

alright archyvb33 i found a pretty good website for you to check out...

T-56 Conversion!

i don't know what kind of budget you are on, but you gotta look at the overall big picture here... if you got yourself a good car and are attached to it and plan on holding onto it for some time, i'd suggest going w/ the T-56...

again, i wish you the best of luck!

yeah it's me again, hahaha...

you know, i'd love to throw a LT1/T-56 combination in my '83 Z but funds are limited, very limited... i'm finishing up my senior year in high school and i'm going onto college, so w/ all the bills and 2 cars, i'm extremely tight w/ money... i might even have to sell my '87!

i hope everything works out for you man, i'd love to hear what the end result is... so keep me informed about how the project is going!
