best looking cowl hood

Going to buy a cowl hood before I have my car painted. Who has what and how does it look, fit, etc. Looking at a Harwood pin on cuz bolt ons are just way to damn expensive. Pics would be nice, thanks.

cheapest for a harwood pin-on is about 320 shipped. Anybody know of any good local hood makers or someone who is selling one?

Re: best looking cowl hood

that link for the gigantic ss scoop is one UGLY hood!!! YUCK!! i got the regular ss hood for my camaro, i think its only like a 2 or 2.5 inch raised section, that one looks about a 20 inch raised section and looks so unproportional and it looks as if somebody just glued it on....the cervini hood is probably the best lookin cowl hood...i wouldn't go bigger than a 3 inch cowl, harwood's 2.5 i think it is looks real nice...dont' go to a 4 inch unless you need the clearance and you have the power to back it up...its rediculous when people with stock 305 throttle body injection camaro's put a 4 inch cowl on it as if they had a 6-71 blower under it or something....my vote goes to cervini tho...

Re: best looking cowl hood

I have seen Cervini's hoods in person and they are a very high quality piece. Probably the best looking glass hood I have seen. The Harwood units are also very quality, but not as nice as a Cervinis. I own a Harwood 2.5" cowl hood and an Unlimited Performance 4" cowl hood. The UP hood is pin down and a cheap piece of crap (what do you expect for $270), the Harwood is a latch down, and is very nice.

Hmmm, cervinis are too expensive. Anything else, im still looking at the VFN hood but they have to be oredered and take 3-4 weeks to make. 400 for a 2 inch bolt on.
