Re: Best high flow cat???

don't worry about teh "high flow" thing. cats are only made by 2 companies anyway. a ton of other companies jsut rebadge them.
there is no performance gain between a 3inch $50 replacement cat adn a $130 "high flow" cat.
if you want to gain power out fo that section fo tubing, remove teh cat all together.

later

And who might those companies be? I personally know Random Technology builds their own. Been to their facility. You may be correct about the substrate inside but I do believe there are several manufacturers for the end product. I use Random Tech. and did notice a deeper, throatier sound and the car was more responsive. Random Tech also is the only company I've seen to show time and again dyno gains with their cats over an open exhaust. BTW, I do not work for Random Technology, nor am I trying to advertise for them. I just use what works and these converters work although, they are spendy, about $195.00 for each of my cats.

Re: Best high flow cat???

I bought a cheap carsound cat converter and the heat shield vibrated off, with the substrate soon following. I bought a random technology catylitic converter and the difference was like night & day on the welds and overall construction.

Like most things, you get what you pay for. I'll be ordering another Random Tech when I redo the exhaust on the T/A this spring.

I'll second on the Catco, just get the direct fit one for your model. And you can keep your $200 Random cats, same granatee as the Catco.
