I'm trying to think of a color to paint my car...i was thinking orange but i'm startin to second guess myself...i know one thing, and that is I want a really brite color....like yellow...does anybody ahve pics of a yellow 3rd gen camaro, lookign at colors is one thing but seeing them on our cars is totally different...what do you guys think is a good brite color that looks good on a 3rd gen....i want to be different, it looks like the color of choice for most people is black, and i want to stay far away from that...any suggestions will be appreciated..thanks..

 

Well my 2 favorite colors are orange and black. So I would say paint the car orange with black stripes!!

 

Yellow with Black heritige stripes would look good.

 

Yeah, that does look pretty sweet, with about a 2" cowl hood. IMO, nothing beats an white iroc.

 

I vote for orange, but none of that pumpkin orange crap. A nice deep orange like sunset metallic or something

 

anybody have pics of these color schemes???...it would help out a lot with my decision.....about that orange, i was thinking competition orange, i dunno if that falls under pumpkin orange, but a deep burnt kind of orange IMO would not look right on my car...these are my ideas, post pics if you've seen anything with 1. competition orange with black racing stripes 2. dark blue like trans am metallic navy blue with maybe white racing stripes. 3. White with black accents 4. Yellow with black accents 5. keep it bright red with black accents(my worse choice, i don't like red cars for some reason)...if you guys have any other paint schemes or pictures of cool paint schemes for 3rd gen's please let me know..thanks..

 

Sounds like mine Although I dont like the heritage stripes how they came on the 92's where they get smaller following the shape of the louvers. Mine are the same width all the way.

 

If you like orange and want to see something a bit different from everyday Camaros.
What about the metallic orange that you see on some of the
Pontiac Grand Prixs??? Or get a color that closely resembles the stock color and get in a different tint, or with some 3 stage paint mixed in

Just make sure that you get the jambs painted and have any boltable parts removed to insure a nice clean job. Nothing looks crappier that a decent paint job but underhood, jambs and engine bay look like the old color

 

yea i will make sure to take off my ground effects and whatnot, and we're pullin the motor this winter so the engine bay will also be sprayed...My dad thinks that burnt orange is the ugliest in the book, but i love it, so i dunno we'll see..i've been lookign at white ones too, and they look so clean, but thanks for all of the suggestions....i gotta do some big time thinking before i make my decision...thanks for all the input guys..

 

Orange is a color that MOST people get tired of rather quickly ,and when it fades alittle (kind of like red)it loses it luster. Go down to your local paint store and ask to look at color chip books ,and look at differant Makes & Models (ie. dodge,f@rd,etc.) you might like some of there colors. Also look at differant paint manufactures for differant colors.
I've often thought about a Pearl White w/Ghost Heritage Stripes.

 

I like white or burgandy......

 

if your painting or having your car painted go custom...it isn't any harder or any more expensive.

for orange and yellow i really like the two colors used on lamborghini. their yellow with green pearl and orange with gold pearl is outstanding.....showstopping, not gaudy and easy/affordable to paint.

i have pictures of them on various makes but nothing on a thirdgen. go to thirdgen.org to look up more color schemes. a green with gold pearl is also beautiful as well as blue with gold pearl. then there are always the neon bases from companies like house of colors which can really brighten the paint. depending on how good your painter is the options are endless. be different and choose your own color........i did and i'm very happy.
