backfiring and tach bouncing help!

Idles like a dream, at WOT pulls perfect. Try and drive it on a normal road and the tach bounces all the way to 5k, the car jerks you can hear somethings wrong in the engine.

Replaced spark plugs, ignition module, distributor, no help.....whats wrong? MAF? O2 sensor?

miles on car? 87 is the big cap still? is the ground lead in the cap under the coil still there? if its a small cap take a squirt bottle of water and give the remote coil a bit of a wet down, see what it does. new distributor means? a complete new distributor from gm, a cheesy pep boys reman, a new body and transferred parts, are you using a NEW, as in out of an ac delco cardboard box that you opened, ignition pickup? delco ignition module? info please
