i was thinking about taking my muffler off and i was wondering if it would hurt the performance of my car im not to sure about the whole back pressure thing i have had people tell that you want alot of back pressure and i have had people tell me that minimum back pressure is good whats the deal with it?

 

guys run cut outs though so if they are runnin basically open headers then if you didnt have a muffler and run through the pipes you will have more backpressure so i wouldnt see you havin any problems.

 

2 of my freinds did that with an 86 and 87 IROC. It sounded great, real loud, i described it in more detail in the v6 forum under exhaust cutouts on v6 cars.
