I just put one in my 91 Z28 and it seems to be working but when I'm just driving around its bouncing around REALLY fast...I know they are suppose to do that but I didn't think they were suppose to be that radical....anybody know whats wrong???
Thanks,

Nothings wrong, thats just the way they work. Mine does the same and so do all of em. They are only meant to give a broad idea of whats going on a WOT. If you mash it, your readings should steady out for a few seconds, or as long as you are giving it alot of fuel. Mine reads pretty rich when I do this, simply because the motor is getting alot of fuel. If you coast downhill at say 60-65 with your foot off the gas, you will also get a steady reading.

It takes a little getting used to, but I like mine. lots of people call them christmas tree lights, but whatever. It helps me tune my car better.

Hope that helps

Will

Its because the computer is always adjusting the mixture to achieve 14.7/1 A/F ratio. Unless you have an old car with no comp and adjust your air/fuel manually from the carb, your going to get this.

Hook up a DVOM to your O2 sensor and see what you get. I'll bet it is pretty much the same. That or hook up a scantool to your ECM so you see what the computer sees.

check your pm's!!

as far as the guage goes, it only has a purpose when at full throttle. otherwise it bounces around.........use to distract me for a week or so when i first got it.

If it bugs you that much, go to you local auto parts store and buy a 1 wire O2 sensor from an 86 LG4 car, there like 9.99. Then go to your local muffler shop and have them weld in a second sensor bung before the cat. Hook the AF guage up to that sensor and it will stay steady all the time...
