anyone wanna touch this?

Anyone wanna touch this......

I`m starting to get use to the price of the m6 and Want to know if anyone thinks it can be put behind a big block for a reasonable amount of coin? I`m looking to find out if the lt1 6 er can fit the big block, not weather it`s smart or not. The big blocks only came with a 14 inch flywheel and the 6 speed only uses a 12 and 3/4 right? So what do I do

Call someone who makes a living working with T-56 transmissions. Any one of the big names. D&D And Liberty come to mind. They'll know. An adapter plate of some sort maybe. A Viper spec T-56 would be sweet also which I think D&D sells for around 2200-2500. Goodluck!

The LT1 trans will hold up to the big-block (assuming it's not some kind of 800hp beast) but the flywheel/clutch is definitely going to be an issue.

Maybe you could get a machine shop to drill/balance an LT1 flywheel to fit the big-block? Just an idea.....

I don't think it should be a problem getting them to work together. A buddy of mine is running a T5 behind a 502 big block. Only things saving the tranny are the tires and the clutch.

It's a bolt in, if you buy the one designed for the "old"/standard bellhousing.

I`m sure the bellhousing`s gonna work, it weather or not the the bellhousing will accept the 14 inch flywheel, because far as I know the t-56 only came with the 12 3/4 in the chevy version...there is no 454 flywheel in 12 3/4 is there?

Read this page. This trans. use the old/standard bell housing that fit BB's and large flywheels.
