ull need the proportioning valve,e-brake cables. it may be easier just to unbolt the brake booster and take that, master cylinder, and prop. valve out as a whole. 4 bolts hold it on,and then undo the couple brakes lines on the prop. valve.

hope this helps

Although the proper master cylinder/proportioning valve for the disc rear is recommended, it is not necessary. Several people have done the drum/disc swap and reused the existing drum brake MC/prop valve with no problems - me included.

The E-brake issue you are referring to is for the rear calipers, not the cables. If the caliper piston sticks after applying the e-brake, replace the calipers.

Like I said, the master cylinder and proportioning valve are recommended, but not necessary. With the wrong combo the worst that could happen is a lack of rear brake pressure. My advice would be good ahead and do the swap. Then determine whether or not you want to switch everything over. My car like many others operates fine without the recommended MC and prop valve.

You can leave the power brake booster alone. They are the same.

Those older 85-88 iron calipers are known for that problem. The 89 and later PBR calipers are the way to go. They were used on all rear disc setups from 1989 to 1997. I've never rebuilt or replaced a set of rear 85-88 calipers so I can't help much more

If you use the 88 calipers than get the upgrade/rebuild kit. My 84 brakes got to the point where the rears would not work at all.

I just put a disc brake rear in my car today that had drums before. The only thing that was different is the brake lines and the e-brake cables. I used the old prop valve without any problems.
