I will be running one on my LT4. I am going with Meziere.
I talked to one of the engineers over there for about an hour one evening and he told me pretty much everything about the pumps they make.
Don't go with CSI.

Every manufacturer of an electric water pump list them as being for drag race cars only. Not for street use. If that is your application then you should have no problems. I would never install it on a street driven car. If you are looking to improve your engine cooling ability I recommend Stewart Components water pumps. I've had their stage II aluminum pump for a little over three years now. Be sure to get their special Robertshaw modified thermostat also.

water pump

electric is fine on the street......but u must use a moroso unit....NOTHING ELSE WILL SUFFICE for a sbc

as for using an electric unit..they are good for a 3/4 to a full tenth and a 1/2 depending on application.....getting rid of the fan clutch is half the battle...... ive seen as much as 20hp on the dyno from using a electic pump

i found a guy local who can weld a bracket on my frame so i can mount my alternator on the low side.......

What fan clutch? 1988 had a serpentine belt setup. No fan clutch. Only either a single or dual electric fans.

So no one has used a electric Water pump for street use??? What is wrong with CSI? I want an electric water pump, already have to much on the belt soon, Alternator, Supercharger,.. want to take off .. Was thinking if it doesn't seem to work any other way I could use one of those completly external water pumps that mount to the frame or soemthing..
