Pull the passenger seat out and pretty much anything will fit. Only a couple screws and 4 bolts....

Put the transmission in a NICE thick, double layerd plastic garbage bag.

Drop your rear seats, put a crappy blanket down. Then slide the transmission into the rear seat area from the driver or passenger side doors. A friend helps immensly here.

Then again, a 700r4 while heavy, is not impossible to lift. Specially if the torque converter is off, and the fluid drained.

ok so bassically it would go where the rear seats are,
my next question:

Can the car take it? is it going to dent the sheet metal at all? i know that 170 lbs is not that much when compared to 2 passengers and a seat.

do you think i would need to use plywood boards for the floor pan or would it be alright without it

Just fold the seats. You don't have to take them out. I've done it before.
