anyone try one of those ebay 'swap harnesses'?
All I gotta do other than fix some odds and ends with my LT1 swap is tidy up the wiring. I got wires all over the place from the LT1 harness and even ran it for awhile with a distributor, so the car is a mess (has a TPI intake on it from accel for the LT1)
Im considering picking up one of the LT1 stand alone conversion harnesses off of ebay that come with a relay and fuse block for LT1 or LS1 swaps. How well do they work?
I wanted to try one of those and wanted to tuck it all under the passenger dashboard. I've been deployed for awhile, but if I remember correctly, I think the TPI harness just connected to the C series connectors under the passenger dash.
That also makes me curious if somewhere I could find some female connectors for the LT1 and TPI computers, so I could make a plug in type swap deal. If not I suppose I could just solder and heat shrink them under the dash, and find a nice place to mount the fuse and relay center.
What do you guys think? Motor runs good but gotta get it done the right way...
By the way it's an OBDI LT1 with a TPI style intake, no distributor (took it out), hedman longtubes, 4L60-E, borla catback, 24# SVO injectors, BBK AFPR, running in an '86 IROC-Z. Harness is from a 1997 SS.

I haven't had any personal experience but I would be very cautious of what you get for something that important. I takes some time to figure out what is needed and how long it needs to be and what it needs to be connected to when doing a swap. This is truly a "you get what you pay for."
