It's not just you. I haven't been able to get on since I first tried at 6:30 a.m. MST.

I have no clue what's going on. Most likely the server/service is down again.

 

Same here. Haven't been able to get on since this morning.

 

It went down last night. I was on around 11pm CST and it quit responding....haven't been able to get on since.

I'm having withdrawl symptoms. I'm used to reading the DIY-PROM forum for at least an hour a night.



edit: Gimme a call Chris...we need to get together so I can take another look at that $6E chip. I'd bet my *** it just has a bad connection on one of the pins.

As much as i like this site,it doesnt hold a candle to thirdgen.org.This site is pretty much all 4th gen anyway.

 

Still dead at 7:50pm Michigan time. Also, I could not get on thirdgen this afternoon.

I was starting to have problems last night. I noticed the pages weren't refreshing properly after posting a message. My guess is a hardware failure.

 

I'm with 350TPI and Gunny. The classifieds here are great (I buy lots of stuff through CZ28,) and I come here if I need info on the '00Z, but for thirdgen stuff TGO is the way to go.

 

yeah, I've also got the withdrawal symptoms. I've been trying to get two it almost every hour today at work and I am swamped.

Temporary server is up just to say there was a major HD failure. I hit that one on the head since I've seen a hardware failure like that before. Hopefully TGO will be back up and restored within a few days. From the sounds of it, data will be restored but I'm guessing a lot might not be. It depends on how much backup there was and how much can be pulled off the HD if any.

 

"nasty death" to HD doesn't sound too good. I guess there are data recovery services that specialize in this kinda thing, but pretty sure you'd be talking thousands to get anything out of a disk that don't spin by itself no more.

Thirdgen.Org went down hard today. The primary hard disk that contained the OS and the website died a nasty death. Right now this is running on a temporary machine as I figure out how I will proceed. As of now, email to thirdgen.org is NOT working. It will be up and running tomorrow. I will be trying to restore data tomorrow to see what is lost and what isn't.
Keep checking back to see progress messages. This server will be up and down tomorrow as I test/recover/re-install/whatever TGO.
