after the installation of the new motor and a few test drives it's aparent the trans isn't shifting through the 3-4 shift like it should. often times it will run to redline and you'll have to let off the gas to have it up shift.

had a few problems with the last motor at the track with it holding redline going down the 1/4 doing the same thing.....all logical ideas assume something is wrong with the trans but can anything like this be affected by the programming?

 

If it only does it from 3rd to 4th...there is nothing wrong with the tranny. 700r4 trannys will not shift into 4th at wide open throttle. If it does it in all gears, i'd say to adjust you kickdown cable and see what happens. Just an idea.

 

Yeah, summit sells a peice to eliminate that problem I think. I think they will only shift at 3/4 throttle not full.

 

really.........i never had a problem with my original 350 l98 stock 700r-4 combo.

it was only after the 383 miniram setup with accel 58tb that i noticed it. (particularly at the track) and even more so now with the new motor.

 

he need the 3-4 upshift valve that go s in valve body summit does not sell the valve.gm sales the valve also some 700 r4 did shift into overdrive at full throttle.valve is called the b-car fix gm part number is #8673948
