Ive got a 355 tpi camaro w/ 373s and 700R4

the car can do 100mph at the end of 3rd @ 6000 rpm (on my stock tach and speedo which i know are both notorious for being off)

The speedo when i hit 6k in 3rd says 110..but my speedo is uncorrected for the gears which would mean i am doing 100mph right?

Is there any other reason that the car runs outta steam that fast?..is it b/c of the 373s and the auto?..is there any other reason that this could happen?

i saw someone do a formula before that equated to 373s + 6000 rpm = just under 125mph being the cars top speed...

 

no way you are hitting 6000rpm with a TPI intake

100mph is about 4900rpm in 3rd,

what was your original gear ratio?

 

you would have more than a 3.73 if all you were doing was 100mph at 6k.

 

yea im hitting 6k with tpi.. ive spun it faster then that too..on accident of coarse, i have no rev limiter as well.

anyway, i dont know unless the speedo is 15 mph off at 6K..i know i cant just say "10mph off any speed b/c i have 373s"

i know my speedo once was reading 75 and i called my friend driving next to me and said we were doing 65...that gap in speed between what my speedo reads and what my acutal speed is will greaten with rpm correct?..can that cause my speedo instead of reading 10mph off..read 15mph off b/c of the difference in rpm?

your speedo will read about 13-14% fast if you had 3.23 before,

TPI isn't a rever if you still got lots of pull at 6000rpm your tach is wrong or your intake is modified

most TPI cars I see run out of ***** before 5500rpm let alone 6000+

when I put my logger on cars I find ALOT of them has tachs that read fast

 

had a logger on there...tach read 6k for first to 2nd shift...datalogger says 5750rpm.

and yea my intake modified..alittle porting...other then that its stock. And my heads are ported as well.
