Air intake from a Camaro to a firebird?

Well I got my first firebird yesterday
I would like to know if I can take the air intake off my 85 camaro 2.8
and put it on my 88 firebird 2.8.
at a glance it looks like it can be done.

Can it be done has anybody tried it before.

thanks, in advance

One of the reasons GM did not use the SAME air intake on both the Camaro/Firebird was the difference in the hood clearance being to low on the Firebird. Just a statement of fact, if GM could of used a common part for both cars they would have. But anything is possible if you are willing to chop and saw to make something fit.

Hood prorbably won't close, but give it a shot.

See my rant here about hack jobs. If you really want to do it right, get something like a ram air hood that works. I have the SLP cold air induction package. Ran it on a dyno once with and once without a filter. 20 HP difference.
