Air condition Removal?

Hello all,

was wondering what would be involved or what information would I need to know in removing my AC from my 84 Z? It has a stock 305 in it now but am putting a 350 in and don’t plan on putting any AC stuff back into it.... yes took the pulley and all that off I’m talking more of the wires and the Evaporator?? Any comments or suggestions can help thanks in advance......

And putting ac back in is not an option I don’t mind rolling the windows down.... also keep in mind I really don’t care about weight that much just doing it more for my hate of AC and I just cant stand looking at all that crap under the hood.... so if a hacksaw and wire cutters are my best bet let me know

Just cut and pull anything that looks like it belongs to the A/C. That sucker will save you 43 lbs in weight.

You can get an AC delete box, this could bipass everything and still keep heat in your car, which mbasically has no heat, there will still be some wires, wha tI did, don't know if it will work yet, but kept all my relays and sensors for my AC that connect to the heater box and conencted them and took out the dryer, condensor, compressor, all that fun stuff, I could get a picutre up in a day or so if you want, it definately gives you loads more room, I don't know if it'll all work properly yet because my motor is currently out of the car, so I can only get you a picture with no motor in the car, but it may give you an idea.

I deleted my A/C on my 86 305.
Looked really nice when I was done.

actually my headers were cake on that side, my brake lines get all up in my way with headers, plus I have the not legal kind of headers, but they sure ar enice, working on getting it to run clean enough for half a day to get a valid inspection sticker, when I find out if using the old controls workson this heater box I'll let you guys know, ebay usually has em

I've got longtubes that I am installing, hedman 68460 I believe.
One set of heater controls won't allow the blower motor to run at full speed, I can't remember if it was the A/C control with the non-A/C box or the Non A/C control with the A/C box.
I'd like to know as well, since I don't feel like changing my heater controls.

well the wiring looks confusing, and usually Ihave no problem going nuts with wiring, but this is kinda intimidating, I'd be willing to bet that the non AC controls won't allow an AC car to run full speed
but to get the AC to fully work you would need AC controls, I dunno.

Dude, my friend thought he didnt need an A/C, and thought he could just roll down the windows and be good, but one day it was too hot and he was on the highway and passed out because of the heat and crashed into a truck and destroyed his car, i dont know how hot it is where you live but just keep the A/C

I haven't had AC for 3 years, live in jersey, cold *** winters hot as hell summers, the car overheats before I do, if he had a car that survived in the heat whil ehe passed out, either he's weak or that car is strong as hell, was it a 6 cyl camaro? they probably don't overheat. you got a v8 in a camaro, no worries about u overheating first.

Your friend was probably dehydrated and that is why he passed out from the heat. It gets hot and humid here, but I'd rather have a clean engine bay than have to hassle with the A/C.
Besides, A/C makes my eyes dry.
