AFR 195 heads...what do you think of them?

Might be getting some AFR 195 heads in trade to put on my 5.7L in my GTA. I was wondering who all had them and how they are/were working for you?

Pros?

Cons?

All info and opinions welcome...

depends on the price.....

new i wouldn't as there are other options for alot less then will work the same or better. if they are more reasonable in price then go for it. just make sure you set up the rest of the parts of the engine to go with them or else you can typically hurt your power.

I asked AFR and they told me to go with the 190 but you need to talk to them for your application.

I had them cut the bowls to achieve a certain compression and currently am very happy with them. I would stay away from TFS, whatever you do.

Well, someone might be trading me their AFR 195's for my TFS Twisted Wedge G1 heads. Until now, I have heard nothing but good things about the AFR's and as far as I knew the 195's are the same as the 190's but they are CNC'd.

I want to go with the AFR's primarily because they will drop my compression slightly. There are other reasons too but I won't go into that now. Basically I am getting bored with the car and I want to try something different and I don't have money to go out and get a T-56 just yet.

You sure about that? AFAIK, the ports are slightly larger for the 195s.

Mad, give him the TFS heads. I wouldn't take them except for an anchor for my boat.

You wouldn't take the AFR's or the TFS's as an anchor? Personally, I think the TFS's wouldn't even make a good boat anchor.

Shut up, will you. If he thinks they are junk, he may give me the AFR heads for a song.

Seriously, I meant to say that I wouldn't use the TFS heads as a boat anchor. Too bulky.
