Hey full,

Bosch Platinums, the single prongs, are very short and should last 3 or 4 times longer than your Accels. I have used the same set on my car with headers for 3 years and have no clearance or fouling problems. The only time you should not use platinums is if you are running nitrous, since they will cause a chemical reaction that leads to fouled plugs, too.

It does sound like you are running rich, though. A tune up of the fuel and ignition system sounds like it is in order

I use the regular single-strap Bosch's too. Never had a problem with them, and I've been running the same set for almost 3 years.

There's not a plug in the world that will stand up to excess fuel though.

I dont recommend Bosch Platinums. So many people come in with V8's and tell me how much they suck. I use regular AC Delco's. Bosch Platinums are bad news.

When you've run the Platinums come and tell me about it. Until then you're just another yap from those who don't know.

I never had a problem with my accels fouling out. I jsut hate that the tip screws off of them. Ive had the tips unscrew on me, and then lost the tip int eh engine bay or on the ground

If you go to regualr length plugs I recomend NGKs

I think you are going to have to putz around till you get it right. NGKs have worked for me. I wouldn't use Bosch Plats simply because I want to see what the engine is doing on a yearly basis and not leave it in for a long time. Also they are not good for turbo applications.

So? Take the plugs out once a year to look at them, if that is what you desire

I know but when the plug will last for 100K, it is harder to get the motivation to take it out every year. I took my plugs out of my truck when it hit 50K and not before. This way it forces me to do it because I have to.

I have run Bosch Plats and even +4 but never noticed any difference in the starting or idling and it does the same as far as having the tan color. I have tried the AC Delco Rapidfires and not noticed any real difference so I choose not to spend big bucks on a plug. Rather, I replace them annually because I have to.

I HATE bosch they are the worst plug i`ve EVER used. I put them in my 89 2.8L celebrity and they were great at 1st two months later they where crap so I switch over to A/C delcos and they were WAY cheaper and WAY better then the Bosch platinums. The guy that I bought my S-10 off of said he had the Bosches in the 2.8L in the truck, I don`t know since I`ve never check. But the truck runs like CRAP. I`ll never put my 305 though those plugs they are a horrible plugs.

I run A/C Delco and Accel those are the best plugs to me. But I do hate when the tips on the Accels come lose.
