92 Firebird Formula

I might be buying an automatic 92 Firebird Formula with less then 60k miles on it. Does anyone know what kind of 1/4 mile times I can expect STOCK?

What mods could I do to break into the 13s?

Also, in 92, what engine did the Firebird Formula have? Not the LT1 right?

dont hold me to it but i would have to say low to mid 14's. theres a bunch you could do to get into 13's. cam, filter, heads, port the heads, and runner/plenum (if its TPI), get deeper gears, etc. gotta work within your budget thats low mileage for a 12 year old car. and no 92 didnt have LT1 (93-97 for f-bodies) , is it an auto? then it will most likely have a 350, stick would be 305

i would look at the tag under the hood or vin code to figure out what engine it has in it. the formulas came with both the tuned port 305 and 350's and the 305 throttle body engine. so just because its an automatic doesnt mean its a 350, youd have to dig deeper and also there would be a noticable difference between the tpi and tbi. i never took my car to the track so i dont know what my 5.7 tpi would have done but i would say by everyone elses times that it wouldnt do any better than 14's in the 1/4 in stock form.

good luck,
Nick J
