91 z advice
91 z advice
i'm a new member and you guys rock so i'm going to ask for your advice. after 5 years i finally got the bug again and bought a mint 91 z convertible. it is just like it came from the factory. here's my questions i want to open things up a bit i got a fuel pressure regulator, a hawks ram air system, edlebrock headers, catco cat dynomax exhaust. i also plan to siamese the plenum and top of the runners and still get the airfoil. doing all of this what would be my chances against an old hag who is harassing me in a 96 mustang convert. I already have a complete 91 tpi 350 but am getting it rebuilt and am thinking of getting the vortec heads from scoggin dickey. I got everything but the airfoil its just waiting for me to put it on then i found you guys so any advice would be extremely appreciated. thanks
My suggestion would be to first ditch the TES headers and get some SLP's. The TES headers are a bad design. They don't fit well and make it very difficult to get to spark plugs. Next I would get rid of the stock tpi. Especially if you are going to modify the heads. If you have to worry about emmissions go with a top end by Accel, if not go with TPIS. Swap the cam next. Then go with some AFR 190 heads with a 195 race port job. 190 have EGR provisions. Gears and a converter would be next. Check out my sig for all the stuff I have done to my 91.
