would it be possible to fit a old 454 with a th400 in it.. the car is going to be just for the strip. i dont want to buy the motor and not be able to fit it.. any help will be nice

 

It's been done before. You can fit a lot of engines in a thirdgen bay. I've never done it...try doing a SEARCH for old posts about it.

 

ok thanks yeah i didnt think there would be a problem. they have tons of space plus i wont have to worry about any emissions or extra crap should be no problem

 

it literaly drops right in. The 400 trans will need a new crossmember and driveshaft,and a way to mount the torque arm. I did this in my 82 and I will never put a small block back in it.Headders are the biggest hassel of the entire swap.
