90 RS TBI Problems

Now, I'm not having a running issue.. My problem is all decision based..lol... I can't make up my mind, lol.. I know that the TBI is very restrictive as far as air flow, and the 305 I've got feels really fresh.

I'm thinking of tossing the TBI in a box somewhere and throwing on a new intake and going the carb route. I'm just wondering what kind of improvement I'm going to be looking at. I know the computer is going to toss the SES light all the time, and I'm going to have to replace a few things, but is it going to be worth doing as far as performance is concerned. I'ld all most really rather go TPI than to do carb, but I can get all the swap parts at work at a major discount if I go the carb route.

Unless someone on the board has everything I need, or at least most of everything I need to do the TPI swap.

Any thoughts would be great guys.

If your trying to make a hot rod out of it,save money for a 350 or crate motor.

Carb swapping that 305 wouldnt be worth the money or time AFAIC.

Just want my daily driver to have a bit more power in it. That and I like to tinker. I've got my car in my post as my hot rod. Also, anything that I put into this motor I'm going to end up tossing on a 350 or my 400 anyway.

There ya go Brandon ^^^. Hes got what you need, especially since you said you like to tinker. TPI cars have loads of torque and are really fun to drive...After that, you might wanna look into changing the steering box over to a quick ratio IROC-Z style and put a wonder bar in the front end (ties the front subframe together right in front of the steering box).
