89 Iroc no power to fp or injectors

Hello,
I'm new to the sight, read alot of the post and have learned alot of good information. But I have a question about my 87 Iroc 305 tbi (yes tbi). I got the car about a month ago, the people before me had added a push button starter, the car would not start with the key. (The key has the chip in it.) The starter quit working,so I changed it. Now I have no power to the fuel pump or injectors, I checked fuses, relays, wires exc. Could the vat keep power form being supplied to injection and fuel pump? I have read about the vat bypass, and I am going to order a new chip for the ecm, I just want to know if this would fix the problem. I'm sure that I have left out some information, but maybe this is enough.

Sounds like it was a VATS problem all along. It will kill the power to the starter also. Did you have the starter checked after you removed it?

Did you check the fuse holder next to the battery? I know TPI motors have one but I am not sure about TBI motors.

The ECM supplys the ground to activate the injectors,so it sounds like either a VATS or ECM problem.

Get the chip swapped out to get rid of the VATS and see where that gets you.
