88 Firebird 700R4 help speedomeater

I have a new to me 88 firebird with a 2.8 v6 with a 700R4 transmission.
It has the digital speedomeater plug on the transmission.
What I need to know is this How can I make the speedomeater read 20mph over? I got a ticket the other day and I just can't get the points .
Dam under cover in a crap dodge intrped gray.
I don't like that it's not right fair!!!!
Put light's on it make it look like a cop car than I have no problem.
Don't hide in a bush or under a rock.
Just be seen.
I know I have to get it checked out by a speedomeater place and be
recertified for this to work out for me.

Can any body Please help me with this?

Thanks,

Chris G.

You should make it read low, but it really doesn't matter.
You can change the gear in the sender or the rear gears in rear end.

Well there are several combos you can use, they have different teeth Drive and driven gears in the speedo, determine what rear gears you have, and what driven gear you have, then you can determine what drive gear (one on the tailshaft ) to get. TPIS has a chart in their catalog.

Don't waste your time and money. To do it you will probably have to take the tailshaft housing off and change the drive gear too. As a judge said "If a defective speedometer is an excuse, nobody will have a working speedo."

You could go to a larger tire size, but most judges won't take that as an excuse either, unless you just perchased the car then MAYBE.
