'86 z-28

Just bought myself a '86 z-28, with the t-top of course for 2,650. I don't know much in the way of cars, but i've checked the obvivious (leaking in the t-top, rust , etc. ) but engine is a different thing. I'm jsut wondering what i might be able to look for myself, or what i can ask my mechanic to check for if he doesn't already know...

thanks ahead of time guys.

I'd start w/ oil change, 10-40w and depending on mileage , mabey a trany oil change, If it has over 100,000 miles dont change the trany fluid, just ad an additive, or check the level I'd check the suspension for wear, and grease the steering linkages, and re-pack the front wheel bearings, change antifreeze, change the rear-end oil 80-90w, and check the filters, and proly change em, fuel, air ect.

On top of that (I also just got an 86 IROC): change all belts, change all filters, get wheels balanced / aligned. When I changed the belts it fixed a number of problems.

Also, my car had been sitting fo so long the windshield reservoir dried up and didn't work. Blowing into the filler tube and priming them pumps fixed it.
