Question 85 TPI do they have speed or revv limeters?

My 85 V6 I have (use) the orginal computer and was wondering do they have revv limeters or speed limeters?
If so are they fuel cut or spark cut?
It's a 5-speed 2.8L (with 3.4 engine).

ive had my 85 2.8 for a year and half, my speedo is digital so it only goes up to 136kmph but i was pulled over by a nice man in a white and blue car that said i was going 177 and still pulling away, and i know ive gone faster. id say the fastest ive gone in that car was 190-200 where the 2.8 engine just cant push the car faster. as for the rev limiter, i can set the odo to read #'s for the tach and i dont think there is a rev limiter.

as for tpi i dont know

136 kmph = 84 mph
177 kmph = 110 mph
190 kmph = 118 mph
200 kmph = 124 mph

A TPI's built in rev limiter is the fact that it runs out of breath at 5000 RPM.

The chips I have seen have a 10,000 rpm rev limiter, and the lower performance cars have a 110 mph speed limiter.

My 3.4 with the crane 272 cam(That's 216*/228* with .454''/.480 @ .05 with 1.5 rockers) with my ported polished heads, ported 94' 3.4 manifold, ported (2.8L) plenum with (my home made) plenum spacers, Polished + reground stock valves and 1.6 rockers I still need to buy (should be good for .481''/.511'' lift).
It should be able to still pull hard past 5000rpm and its is a 5-speed at about 100 mph the tach is reading about 3400 rpm in 5th, I won't run out of gear with that car.

A 2.8 cranking to 130+ MPH? O_O

Does it just take forever after 90? My 305-powered, with little mods (filter, exhaust, etc) barely got to those speeds. Impressive V6 anyways.

It has to do with what wheel / tire package your car was ordered with. Z rated tires = NO limiter...
TPI 6000 rpms...no problem... (unbelievers.. )
90 IROC 140+mph = been there, done that..

True, but you don't have enough horsepower to push it any faster due to air resistance.
