'85 Drop Top Z...rare???

'85 Drop Top Z...rare???

Hey guys. I was just lookin around for a decent deal on an '85 Drop Top Z project....NONE of the '85 cars I saw were verts...how weird. Were they rare or not made err somthin? Thanks...

If you are looking for a drop top factory job you will not find it. They did not start making the drop top till 87. ASC did make a drop top in 85 but it was not a factory job. I have a 87 drop top that was made by ASC (one of 263) and then factory started making them in 87 around 700 of them.

convertibles didn't come back until 1987, so no '85 vert...sorry man

Damnit......that blows.....I guess I'll get an '87 and call it an '85, no one will know! Sept you guys.....

That blows badly! I wanted the '85 cause that's what year I was born, and the drop top cause well, I want a drop top. O well, thanks guys!

They are out there, just not factory. All dealer ordered from one of many conversion company's. Most of them look like the "batmobile" with the tonneau cover they came with.

I remember a beige 84 Z28 sitting on the showroom floor when we got our 84 Monte Carlo SS.

who cares about what year your born in... get a 3rd gen you like, even if it's a 87, 90, 92, or even a damn 82, lol

get that vert that was made for new kids on the block, that thing was bad ***. had a blower and musical notes on the seats. i forgot if it was a camaro or a firebird.

ASC did convertions for 3th Gens. One on E-Bay right now.

There were a few companies out there that did the conversions either with GM parts or their own parts. Ken had an 86 IROC Vert that was honestly as nice looking as mine or any other ASC cars. Some company called Choo Choo Customs did his conversion.

Rare? Yes...but so is a Ford F-350 Convertible...
