82-92 Dana 44 Wanted

e-mail me if you've got one you'll sell me or I'll trade my complete Vortec TPI system with SLP runners and LT1 injectors or chrome IROC rims.

good luck finding one of these things. they are extremely rare, and when they do pop up for sale, they are really expensive. A local guy just bought one for 500 bucks with thrashed internals. he basically bought a housing that will bolt to a thirdgen, and now he's gotta rebuild it.

Good luck to you, i looked for one for about 4 months before i gave up on it...

The last batch SLP sold last year went for about $1600. That's not a good deal considering they could have bought a new 9" for not much more or a 12 bolt for that matter. This will make you sick, the last batch of Dana 44's Summit Racing had when they were getting rid of their SLP stock about 4 or 5 years ago went for around $350. I'm not going to give my left arm for one especaially when they're not much stronger than a 9 bolt and the aggrivation involved in finding one, but I'm willing to pay a fair price.

Lots of luck but I think you should just buy a 9". Any Dana 44 you find for cheap will probably cost more than the 9" by the time it's fixed up. I doubt you'll find one in mint condition for less than $1500 especially if someone knows it's a Dana 44.
