700R4 To Turbo 350 Swap !!

I pulled my 700r4 yesterday and I have most of the parts for the TH350 swap.
B&M Holeshot 3000 Converter
B&M crossmember/tourque arm kit
built TH350
TCI sfi flexplate
all new bolts

I am just having trouble trying to find the right driveshaft. I need one that is 43" from center of U joint to center of U joint. The other thing I am haveing trouble with is the whole speedometer setup. The car has an electrical speedomter and the TH350 has a mechanical. I do have one of the older dash setups with the cable driven speedo from a 86 z28 but I don't know if it will fit or not. I am also stuck on what to do with the wires that were connected to the 700r4. Can I just zip tie them to the side?
thanks!

I think Painless wiring has a speedometer conversion unit for you. Check with them or their website, there are a few of those around (if they are still around).

The driveshaft will probably have to be custom. You may be able to use the driveshaft from a 1982 Z28 with the 3 speed in it (I think that one will fit), but (even if you can find one) it is now 20+ years old and not real heavy duty so I'd probably not bother with it.

Good luck!

Ive been doin my homework lately on this subject since i am doing a 700r4->Powerglide swap. It seems that you have 3 choices when it comes to the driveshaft. 1)brand new custom driveshaft 2) 82 camaro with TH200 3-spd or 3) GM H-body driveshaft (Chevy Monza, Pontiac Sunbird, Olds Starfire, Buick Skyhawk). Im not 100% sure these will work, i was just told by someone that had done the swap before that it would. Im sure one of these cars would be easy to find in the junk yard so you take measurements from it if youd like and find out for yourself.

I can vouch for the '82 Camaro TH200 driveshaft working with a TH350 swap.
