700r4 to T-56 swap

Hey everyone, i have a few question reguarding the transition from my 700r4 to a T-56....

Im getting one out of a 2000 Trans Am with everything (so the seller says) My question is what special parts am i going to need to complete the swap into my 1989 Iroc-z 350 i know that i need a custom crossmember but besides that im clueless....I hear from some people i will need a new starter??? Also some people are telling my that my automatic drive shaft will work but he is giving me the drive shaft from the TA will it fit or will mine be fine?

Another thing is im not sure if he is giving me the brake/clutch pedal assembly.. so if not then would i go out and find the assembly for a manual transmission of my body style or would i look for the brake/clutch out of a newer trans am????

Another thing i dont think my speedometer is electronic being that i have an 89 so what will i need to make it work with the new transmission???

I really appreciate the help

WHOA Stop right there. Do some triple checking if an LS1 T56 can be used. I'm 99.9999% sure it won't. If it does:

Special Crossmemer - www.spohn.net
Dakota Digital SGI-5 - www.dakotadigital.com
Pedals from a 3rd gen will work (84+)
-Rippin

EDIT: For the crossmember, get it from www.thirdgenresource.com they have the same exact one and it's $10 cheaper. Roy is a great guy to do business with too. Good luck.

The LS1 tranny uses a different input shaft, different hydro setup, and different bellhousing. You would have to replace all of those to use an LS1 tranny, and the input shaft alone is $400 new. A tranny off an LS1 will ONLY fit an LS1. If you haven't paid for it yet, don't. If you have, try to get your money back. Or else start saving for an LS1 swap.

Once you get an LT1 tranny email me about the swap....I dumped my 700-R4 for a T-56 about 3 years ago. I can tell you just about anything you need to know.
