69 010 block in 87 iroc z help
Re: 69 010 block in 87 iroc z help
I would say to forget the Muncie idea alltogether. A T5 will last for a while, but look to swap for a T56. Use the IROC's factory wiring harness for the engine, excluding the EFI stuff. Find a mechanical advance HEI distributor, your not going to wants the points peice of **** from '69. Most car oil pans should work, I used one from a '77 K10 in an '82 Camaro before. On ther oil dipstick just use a factory piece, you can bend them quite a bit with out kinking them. I have use them with a few different brands of headers. I'd say keep the AC if you can. The '69 camelbacks are probably not going to have accesory holes in them. (do they???) I have only seen a few sets of them that did have them, and I think most of them were sold over the parts counter instead of installed on cars, but you should be able to frabricate some mounts to make them work. I have drilled an accessory hole in the side of a double hump head before. Do you have any more questions that haven't been clearly answered for you.
