Anyone know where I can get a EPROM for a 350 car? I'm working on a 87 iroc 5.7 . Thanks

Do you mean a custom chip? I got mine made by PCMFORLESS.com. It's pretty cheap compared to the guys at Summitracing.com. Summit wants over $400. PCMFORLESS did mine for $125 and any time I make a change to my car they only charge $25 to make a change. I'm about to get my injector size reprogrammed.

Sorry if I misunderstood.

Probably can use it. They do a piggyback for our years. They burn the chip and then it clips on your chip. You have to fill out a form that states your specific situation. Very easy stuff.

But I'd suggest 22lb fuel injectors if you have not already done so. 305 cars have 19lb and 350 have 22 from the factory. You probably already knew but just in case.

If you mean physically reprogram the old 305 chip (2732), that will likely fail. Those EPROMS are so old that even if you manage to erase one, the burn usually fails.
In that case, it's easier and faster to burn a new EEPROM chip, however that would require a minor change to your ECM's socket.

And if you meant to reprogram the 305 chip by only changing some parameters, that would not work well either. The 350 programming is a lot different from the 305.

In either case, you can buy a socket for a few cents, a chip for a few dollars, download a stock 350 chip datafile from the web and have a friend burn it for you. I'd love to offer my help but I'm plumb out of chips.

Where are you located, btw? Your profile doesn't say. If you're closeby, we could work something out.

I would call these guys. They will answer any questions. I'd suggest getting together with a local shop and showing them this stuff if you think it's a little complex. But these guys can sell you all you need to do with computers.

Yes, that's another option, to tune your own car. But I didn't mention it because it is very involved, on the financial and knowledge side.

But an option nonetheless.
