Re: 4th gen door panels

Not without alot of modification, the dash goes in super easy, center console is'nt bad but I would recommend after using a auto console to invest in a manual instead-alot less cutting to make shifter fit.

If you goto www.thirdgen.org and search 4th gen interior or door panels or dash there is a wealth of information. I've written as much as I care to since every time it gets tooo long and time consuming and it's already been written up already anyways

Just know if you want it to fit "factory" you will have alot of money wrapped up unless you know an interior guy to fill in a few open spots since our 3rd gens are obviously different. There are also guys that have gotten the facotry 4th gen guages, HVAC, etc...to funtion properly as well but it is VERY time consuming and technical to say the least. I was lucky since mine's just a street/strip beater I gutted all the HVAC stuff out and installed my own guages for accuracy sake.

Re: 4th gen door panels

No problem, dash took all of an hour-hour and half by the time I cut the dash panel that meets the windsheild. I had just gotten the car painted so windsheild was out and it made that aspect a breeze, only thing I wish I would've done and will do when I replace this windsheild in the future is after dash panel is in place, I woudl've set the windsheild back on and traced the line where dash meet windsheild, then flipped glass over and painted under that mark with flat black paint for a facotry look. As of now I just have black vinyl on the exterior, nobody has caught it yet until I point it out, but it's just cheesy IMO. Also renforce the heck under the dash pad since it's literally just stuck to the dash itself inside and the back side is left hanging in the breeze. I thought I had mine backed up enough, but after the first year of racing and street driving I developed cracks. I have a new pad in the basement, just wainting until I gut interior to finish roll cage to reinstall and stiffen new one so I dont have that problem again.

Door panel I took and cut off all the L tabs on the back side and then used black trim screws around the outter lip of the panel and screwed it to the door. It does'nt take very many to make it secure and most will be under the door pocket so nobody will be the wiser. If your going to use the 4th gen handle you will have to redo rods for locks and handle itself but is doable, I took the easy way out since it's not a show car and just modified the 3rd gen handles to work. Not as flowing as 4th gen stuff but it works great. This is another option when I get time I will upgrade as well as make speaker mounts to use the 4th gen factory speaker covers.

Re: 4th gen door panels

door panel will not work with the stock 3rd gen dash, unless you hack the dash.
It will look nice and pretty, but you won't be able to close the door.

Oh, let me clarify, you need to hack the dash pad, not the dash.

Re: 4th gen door panels

this was a test using the stock door handle location and mount with only the door lever changed to the 4th gen one. Panel had to be cut shorter.

this is my 95 Dash with a camaro door panel just sitting on the door,

Re: 4th gen door panels

since TGO is down...

For a 4th gen dash swap, do you use the 4th gen vent-ductwork or the 3rd gen venting system?
