4L60E in my car?

What kind of modifications would need to be made to put a tranny out of a 99 T/A in my car. The transmission has 4k miles on it, and it has all the goodies you can think of on it. The guy goes to my church. So will it work out? How much money am I looking at for the swap?

NO! In short the "E" in 4L60E stands for Electronic Control and you have no provision on a 3rd Gen Car to use it.

It will only work with the ECM from 4th gen car and of course a 3rd gen car cannot use it and run. Thats why you don't see this tranny being used.

they make controls jsut for the tranny, I think you can get them aftermarket, not sure, but I know you can put it on like a carbed car, at least I'm pretty sure you can.

I was going to buy the tranny for $750 with 4k miles on it. It has every goody you can buy for it exept a stall converter. While making a pass the converter split wide open. The tranny was pulled and replaced before he dug into the old one, but the rest of the tranny has been "gone through" by a pro. and it's ok.

for being such a nice guy, I figured I'd send a link toa setup that comes witht he controller, maybe I jsut didn't have the resources at the time to chekc on it, man some people on here can really be jerks, check it http://www.bmracing.com/products/tra...trans_pkg.html so now you KNOW you can run it in a car with a computer, nobody on here even mentione dit so me THINKING it was possible was a step in the right direction, but I'm sure you're perfect.

TCI Kit to control 4L60E

So the answer is a yes, however the economical side is left up to you.

Oh didnt see it was from a 99, misread and thought it said 97.

What is different on the LS1 4L60E? The T56 has a different output shaft I think, but I dont know on the A4.

NO, a 4L60E from a 99, if it is off a LS1, will not bolt up, if you want to spend the money to install one, you need one off of a LT1
