3rd gen diet

Hey guys. I need to make sure my car looses some weight this year. It will have aluminum heads, intake, wp. I am planning on loosing the A/C, batt is going in the back, and a few more little things. What else can I do to shed some weight? I want to keep the car streetable and I want to keep my door panels and dash. Rear sets and hatch padding can go, but carpet nad pass. seat must stay. No subwoofers or amps will be left in the car, just deck and 4 spks. Any input would be great. thanks guys.

I'm bascially trying to do the same your doing... or plan to before long. Here's what I've came up with.

Take AC off, Smog, Air pipes, and everything related to AC.
Convert to Manual Steering from S-10
Convert to tubular control arms and K-member, also coil overs.
Move the battery to the back.
Take wiper motor out, washer tank, and washer pump
Remove both front and rear sway bar

I plan to probably do all of that, but it won't be a daily driver. It'll be a weekend car probably.

If you really want to do some reducing of weight, you can cut the braces out of your doors (I would recommend you have a roll cage before even thinking about it), taking the honey comb out of your bumper, anything that can be taken off will be taken off.

Just some ideas for you.
